Anyone who knows me knows that I am a giant packrat. I just can't bear to part with something if I think it will be useful in the future. Sharing a 2 bedroom apartment with my husband and our dog has helped supress some of my packratty ways. Still, there are certain things I have trouble letting go of. Take used greeting cards, for example. I have a couple of shoeboxes that are just overflowing with them. Something had to be done. Luckily, I had an idea.
I re-styled the old cards into new ones using my sewing machine! Oh, and that furry thing at the top of the photo is Dottie's paw. She's a paw model. Anyway, I found these super cute valentines at a garage sale one summer, but several of them had already been written on. I solved that problem by stitching them to blank cards, and then adding some fancy embroidery stitches.I made some using old Christmas cards, too. Just hand write a personal message inside, or use a holiday message rubber stamp. Simple!
Sew cute!(Okay, bad pun, I know)
ReplyDeleteThat reindeer one is pretty snazzy, too ;)

Dottie! What a charming model!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! It's such a waste, tossing out cards. But this is an adorable solution!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Anna, What a fabulous idea. Like you I have many postcards so this is a really good way to use them. Thank you for the idea. Best Wishes Daphne
